The performance and life expectancy of an air conditioning system to deliver comfort is highly dependent on proper installation. What this means is that: proper system charging and air flow rules are followed; brazing of refrigerant lines are done with dry nitrogen gas flowing and the solder with the right silver content is used; or if using flare connections, proper and burr free flares of the refrigerant line that have been sealed and torqued correctly.  Aside from the electrical connections being installed correctly such as making sure that grounding wires and other connections on its terminals is tightly secured without the possibility of shorting out, the air conditioning unit must be mounted above snow level if it is to provide heat during the winter.  Air conditioning systems also need to be mounted on a platform above flooding if it is in an area that is susceptible to this. The same height requirement goes for flood zones with backup power or oil or gas furnaces that work in conjunction with AC cooling.
 
Once the air conditioning unit is properly positioned and connected it should be pressure tested for leaks at the amount that mimics pressure for the type of refrigerant that it will be using. It should be then be deep vacuumed to below five hundred microns to boil off any moisture within the AC system. Moisture can create havoc in an air conditioning system by shortening the life of a compressor. Once a compressor burns out, an acidic environment stays within an AC system that can shorten the life of the replacement compressor if not properly taken care of. This applies to AC Chiller, Central AC, Ductless AC, or any air conditioner for that matter.
 
When installing a high efficiency furnace with air conditioning we recommend dual piping that separate the intake and exhaust, especially if you live in the Northeast.
 
 
Air Conditioning Maintenance and Repair for Home and Business:
 
AC systems require periodic maintenance. Air filters have to be replaced when they are dirty. Air conditioning filters that are dirty restrict air flow and could cause ice to form and freeze evaporator coils. AC outdoor condensers have to be clear of brush for proper air flow and also periodically cleaned to function effectively. If you are using an oil furnace with air conditioning: oil filters have to be replaced and the canister cleaned; the oil pump and screen taken care of; the spray nozzle replaced; and the electrodes cleaned and adjusted; all part of a precision oil furnace tune-up that we do including bleeding the air of the oil fuel line. If additional services are required such as clogged fuel lines or a heat ex-changer, we take care of those too.
